Here at Ebenezer Ethiopian Church of Portland we seek to live out our calling as the Body of Christ, as a people chosen, known, loved and sent out by our Living Lord. Here, we come together to worship God, to study His Word, and to “spur each other on to love and good deeds” (Hebrews 10:24). Here, we come together to encourage each other, to pray for each other, and to discern together ways we can reach out to our hurting world with the Good News of the Gospel. Here, we are a family – not always perfect, but always bound together by something greater than we are. Centered on God’s Word, and empowered by His Holy Spirit, together we seek to be the kind of congregation our Lord has called us to be.And we would love to have you join us! We would love to welcome you in worship and other goings-on here; we would love for you to come get to know our family so that we may worship and serve the Lord together. Statement of Faith
We believe in one God who is three distinct persons—Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe that the Bible is the written and inspired Word of God and is the source of God’s blessings. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and the Savior of the world. We believe that the blood Jesus shed on the cross allowed us to have an intimate relationship with God. It is through our faith in His selfless act of love that we are saved. We believe that Jesus Christ rose from the dead and is coming again. We believe in water baptism and baptism in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. We believe that God wants us to have a full life, free from poverty, sickness and disease. We believe that tithing represents our love for God and we strive to honor Him in everything we do.
